The Marlborough Bow Hunters Club were proud to host the Hunters Element 62nd Annual NZBS Tournament.
Two action packed days of shooting - including a 24 target 3D course and 4 specialty targets, with a variety of shot situations and environment factors to keep you alert. The MBH crew also held novelty shots on both days, which saw shooters go head to head on a bunch of balloons on Saturday and try their luck at a lone Goat sitting on a BIG pile of rocks over 100 yards away on Sunday.
The annual Roaring Competition was also held on Saturday afternoon, with both men and women trying their best to sound just like a roaring stag. And roar they did!
Over 70 shooters from all across NZ gathered on a non-typical, cold Marlborough morning. They were treated to hot coffee from the Wagon Wheel coffee cartthen once registration was done, the welcome and safety briefing over, it was time for shooters to make their way out on the course to their allocated target.
3 hours later, shooters are starting to make their way in. Stories a-plenty, a few broken or lost arrows, wet and cold archers but smiles all round was the theme upon return. Mission accomplished for the MBH and NZBS!
Sunday was a much better day weather wise - no rain or snow in sight. Plus archers were treated to a later start due to no registration. The sun was out, the air warming up and archers once again scattered themselves around the course on their allocated targets. Another 3 hours later and our good friends at The Kai Shack were once again busy making delicious hot food to fill empty stomachs.
